Under intense heat and pressure, multiple layers of these treated hardwoods are fused into a single, solid block of material that is extremely durable and moisture resistant. The handle has a premium, shiny finish that is a natural result of the production process, and not the result of a varnish or lacquer, so the it won't be affected by paint and varnish strippers.
